Tricky decision on whether to take the new ball, innit?

Re: England - Australia Ashes
Stewie - Manuel said he was sick of this rain bs to which feet replied "this is what happens when you prioritise the hundred and play in June and July" but we actually got the better weather... We still would have played in this shit weather.

Ps Sven isn't Australian ;-)

Re: England - Australia Ashes
Superb catch by Bairstow, that.

I've been one of his biggest critics - the guy is bang average behind the stumps, for a test keeper - but he has taken a couple of great catches in the last two tests.

That was a really good grab to get rid of Marsh.

Re: England - Australia Ashes
btw, where is Sven? Haven't seen him all game - assume people being unnecessarily cunty has sent him off again. Which means we have NO australians left on here. A shame.

stewie griffin 7:26 Mon Jul 31
Re: England - Australia Ashes
to be fair - i think he's talking about this:

Ashes 2019 - 1st August to 19th September
Ashes 2015 - 8 July to 24 August
Ashes 2013 - 10 July to 25 August
Ashes 2009 - 8 July to 23 August
Ashes 2005 - 21July to 12 September

Ashes 2023 - 16 June to 31 July

so you expose yourself to weather... and more importantly injuries...all for the sake of wanting to put on a tournament in august that no one cares about.

Still, hopefully it won't exist this time next year anyway.

Stewie - he was talking about the weather.. So the only difference it made is we got to play when it wasn't constantly raining...

I was at the final day of the 1968 Test when England bowled the Aussies out after torrential rain. Underwood doing all the damage. Even as a boy I knew it was history.

this has a similar feel to it.

stewie griffin 6:52 Mon Jul 31
Re: England - Australia Ashes
it has a massive impact, fraser....squeezing test matches into july instead of august when they're normally played, in favour of a pile of shit competition, is insanity
